Lenoir County Department of Social Services is a county operated, state supervised, public, non-profit service delivery organization funded by federal, state, and county revenues. The agency’s purpose is to provide economic assistance, child support enforcement, and professional social work services to individuals and families living in Lenoir County, and to deliver a large number of specialized and complex programs designed to assist the county in coping with a variety of social and economic conditions.

Kinston Teens
Kinston Teens is a youth-led nonprofit organization dedicated to building a more resilient, empowered, and equitable community. Founded in 2014, we work at the intersections of youth leadership, community development, and climate resilience—providing young people and historically marginalized communities with the tools to shape their neighborhoods and futures. Through service, civic engagement, and advocacy, we transform challenges like gun violence, poverty, environmental injustice, and health disparities into opportunities for action and hope. Our initiatives—from neighborhood revitalization to voter engagement to resilience building—have engaged thousands and earned recognition at local, state, national, and global levels. At Kinston Teens, we believe that when young people lead, communities thrive.
