Our behavioral health clinicians utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach and other therapeutic models to help patients and families learn to recognize thinking and behavior patterns that contribute to individual and family issues, interventions are strength-based and solution-focused.

Substance Abuse Services

Dr. Marion Wright was born in South Carolina but moved to Durham, NC at the age of 8 when his parents started a church there. He was educated in the Triangle area, having attended both Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Wright moved to Eastern North Carolina in 2003 to complete his medical training and has remained in the area since. Dr. Wright has been employed in private practices and previously with ECU Student Health. Dr. Wright is now a published author, having written his first book entitled: The Suppression of Depression: Addressing the Stigma of Depression among Christians.

I have experience working with the Adult Outpatient Population (AOP) also clients with substance use/abuse issues. I have over 22 years’ experience working with the underserved including inmates with psychiatric/emotional/social/psychological issues. This motivated me to pursue a doctoral degree in mental health to better serve this population.

Ms. Song is an eastern NC native and graduate of ECU. For over 15 years, Ms. Song was the founding owner and Administrative Director of Stepping Stones Child Development Center, a 4 star center with 75 children and a staff of 15 employees. As a single parent of a child with special needs and terminal illness, Ms. Song felt the calling to help others overcome challenging life circumstances by obtaining her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and subsequently a license to practice as a mental health clinician.
Ms. Song is dually-licensed. She holds the LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and LCASA (Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate) credentials. For the past 8 years, Ms. Song has provided mental health and substance abuse services to children.
Ms. Song has extensive experience with helping clients overcome:
Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Grief/Bereavement, Mood disorders, Relationship issues, Behavioral problems, Substance use, Panic disorder, Irrational thoughts, Anger, Low Self-esteem.
Ms. Song resides in Winterville with her dog and two cats. Her adult daughter is a Microbiologist in Charlotte and her son, a student, is a former US Navy Hospital Corpsman. Ms. Song's younger daughter passed away at the age of 18 due to complications from Leigh's Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Ms. Song is a Christian that enjoys helping others and volunteering.
